Incline Village community notes: Dec. 30, 2015

Jean Eick
Special to the Bonanza

Goodbye 2015 and Hello 2016. Let’s hope the new year will bring happiness and good health to all, and that Tahoe will remain white well into spring. As you celebrate, please be safe, have a designated driver or arrange for transportation.

Sorry kids but the holiday break is ending and it will be back to school next week. Enjoy the last few days of vacation now.

Be sure to get discounted lift tickets for skiing at Northstar, Heavenly and Kirkwood to help support Tahoe SAFE Alliance. For information, contact dawnh@tahoesafealliance.org, call 775-298-0010 or stop at their office located in the DWR Community Non-Profit Center.

Start planning for Ullr Fest now on Friday, Jan. 22, to Sunday, Jan. 24, at Diamond Peak Ski Resort. This is such a fun event featuring a torch light parade and other special activities. Visit http://www.dpsef.org for information.

Happy Anniversary to my husband, Gerry Eick, on Tuesday, Jan. 5.

We have one birthday this week: Phyllis Farr on Dec. 31. Happy Birthday!

The Deal or Steal for this week is IVGID Community Appreciation Week, which is Monday, Jan. 4 to Sunday, Jan. 10 at Diamond Peak. All you need is your IVGID picture pass or punch card to enjoy free skiing, free demos, food discounts and more! Visit diamondpeak.com to learn more.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, before 5 p.m. on Tuesday to jeanmeick@aol.com.
