Incline Village community notes: June 1, 2016

Snow plant season has arrived. The beautiful red plants are popping up all around the village. With the predicted high temps in the valley this coming weekend should be a busy time at Tahoe. And yes, it is time once again for the annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride around Tahoe on Sunday, June 5.

There is still time to donate items for the Incline Village Community Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Classy Garage Sale. Deliver donations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, to the Incline Village Community Hospital Parking lot. The sale is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4. Make a reservation now to attend the free economic forum, “Volatility and Investment Trends” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. The Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation’s forum includes an opportunity for the audience and presenters to share and exchange knowledge. The North Lake Tahoe Demonstration Garden, located on the Sierra Nevada College campus, is hosting a Community Dig-in from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 11. The community is invited to help. For more information, contact Margaret Solomon at or call 775-831-8457.

The Deal or Steal for this week is the Village Green Bird Walk from 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday, June 9. This is a leisurely stroll to observe the numerous bird species that are returning or migrating through Tahoe this spring. Identify the songs, calls, and field marks of birds while walking through different habitats including riparian areas, streams, and through pine forests. Meet in the Aspen Grove parking lot.
