Incline Village community notes: May 11, 2016

Now that the sunshine has returned, if you have not looked at the beaches lately, take a walk. It is wonderful to see how much more lake we have to start the season this year. And yes, the beaches will be open this weekend. Go enjoy.

Attend the annual Broadway Concert by the Sierra Nevada College Choir and directed by Donna Axton at 7 p.m. tonight,Thursday, May 12, at Cornerstone Church. The concert features tunes from Into the Woods, Carousel and The Little Mermaid. Tickets available from choir members, the Potlatch, Handmade at the Lake in Incline Village, The Store in Tahoe City, or at the door.

One important note for this week is to remember Friday is Friday the 13th and it is the only Friday the 13th in 2016.



At 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, the Women’s Club will host its luncheon at Spindleshanks in Kings Beach. Watch Dianna Maria deBorges in a Chautauqua performance as Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins. To purchase tickets and attend this event reservations need to be made by Friday, May 13 with Linda Schooler at 775-832-0673.

Join Tahoe Family Solutions at the Hi-Hat Jazz Club on Wed, May 25, at The Chateau. Champagne reception starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and dancing to live jazz music from Halsey & the Hi-Hats. Raffle tickets available for an all inclusive Disneyland trip for a family of 4. Tahoe’s Connection for Families hosts its annual Tahoe Teddy Bear Picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Aspen Grove. The Incline Village Community Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Classy Garage Sale is Saturday, June 4, in the Community Hospital Parking Lot. Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the hospital parking lot. Individual spaces are available and to rent a space contact Karen at 775-833-3244 or Barbara at 775-832-6760. Attend Volatility and Investment Trends, a free economic presentation at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. The Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation’s free forum includes sharing and exchanging of knowledge between the audience and presenters.
