Incline Village community notes: May 18, 2016

Jean Eick
Village Notes

It looks like we will need to put a hold on bikini days in Raley’s. But, this is the week for the Amgen bikes to be in Tahoe, so that explains the weekend weather forecast!

A reminder that the Bonanza Friday morning community meetings will not happen again until June 3.

If you plan to attend Tahoe’s Connection for Families’ annual Tahoe Teddy Bear Picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Aspen Grove, it is a rain or shine event. If we have wet weather on Sunday, the event will be moved to Incline Elementary School. For tickets and sponsorship information, please visit http://www.tcfkids.org or call 775-832-8230.

On Saturday, June 4, attend Incline Village Community Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Classy Garage Sale in the Community Hospital Parking Lot. Donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the hospital parking lot. Individual spaces are available, and to rent a space, contact Karen at 775-833-3244 or Barbara at 775-832-6760. To arrange for furniture to be picked up call Karen at 775-833-3244 or Jill at 775-831-2813.

“Volatility and Investment Trends,” a free economic forum is at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. The Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation’s forum includes an opportunity for the audience and presenters to share and exchange knowledge. To reserve a space at this free event, please contact jeane@parasol.org or call 775-298-0184.

Congratulations to all of the SNC graduates last weekend. A special shout out to Macayla Mischler. Way to go Macayla!

Also a huge welcome back to Bailey Rector, who just completed her year at UNR and has returned to Incline Village for the spring/summer. Welcome Home Bailey! Look forward to seeing you around the village.

Birthdays to celebrate this week: Jan Horan on May 15, Shelia Bujeaux on May 21, Howard Beckerman on May 23 and Nancy Porten on May 24. Happy Birthday!

The Deal or Steal for this week is to watch the Tsurunokai Drummers from 4-5 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at the Incline Village Library. For more information stop at the library or call 775-832-4130.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, before 5 p.m. on Tuesday to jeanmeick@aol.com.
