The cool nights and sunny days remind us that our next season is just around the corner. Go explore Tahoe now, as ice is already making an appearance on some of the mountain streams. Of course beach time is still an option too.
Please take time out as you begin your day on Sunday, Sept. 11, to remember all those we lost in the attacks on 9/11.
The Incline Village/Crystal Bay Republican Women’s Club is inviting the community to hear a Tax Debate on the Sales Tax Increase. Debaters will be Tray Abney and Jeff Church. The debate is at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Aspen Grove and will include a catered picnic. Tahoe’s Connection for Families will welcome author and speaker Cheryl Erwin from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Erwin is the author or co-author of nine books on parenting and family life, including seven in the best selling “Positive Discipline” series and will present on Screen Time. On Sunday, Sept. 18, is the annual Washoe County Sheriff’s Office picnic at Aspen Grove. I will try to get information on the times for next week.
At 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, at the Tunnel Creek Lodge, enjoy a Fireside Conversation with the Ghost of Mark Twain(McAvoy Layne). This is a Historical Society production of “Wine, Wit, Wisdom & Hors d’oeuvres.” Park at Tunnel Creek Café at 6 p.m. and take the free shuttle to the lodge. Still time to get out and enjoy a fun golf event. On Thursday, Sept. 22, is the annual Golf From the Heart Golf Tournament, the Incline Hospital Auxiliary’s fundraiser at the Championship Course. For more information, contact Karen Kuehnis at 775-833-3244.
At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the North Lake Tahoe Demonstration Garden located at Sierra Nevada College is the last gardening class of the season.
