Now that the super moon is over, I hope things settle down again in the village. Yikes, some strange things happened over the weekend. As we begin October, get out and enjoy Tahoe! We always have so many fun October activities and events.

As a reminder, the Incline Relay for Life is from 9 a.m. – midnight Saturday, Oct. 3 at Preston Field. C Chairman Brendan O’Donovan at 323-490-3281 or ACS Community Manager Melissa Williams at 775-828-2203 for information.

AAUW will be hosting a fundraiser at the Nevada Museum of Art at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. For information and tickets, please contact Millie Szerman by email at MillieSz746@gmail.com or call 775- 833-3311.

Oktoberfest is almost here. Join Tahoe Family Solutions at the annual festival on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Village Center. This is a community event with something for everyone. Please call Nayeli at 775-298-0004 for more information or to reserve a booth. And, save the date for the annual TFS Bowl for Families on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Dr. Graham Kent, Director of the Nevada Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada Reno, will be speaking at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, for the dinner meeting of the local AAUW chapter. The meeting is open to the public at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center at 948 Incline Way. Advance reservations are required, the cost is $30 per person; please RSVP to Kelley Werner at kwwerner10@gmail.com.

Save the date for the Trail of Treats and Terror from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. This annual community collaboration for trick-or-treaters features a trail that travels from the DWR Center, to The IVGID Rec. Center, Lake Tahoe School and ends at Sierra Nevada College.

Please join Tahoe SAFE Alliance for its Tahoe Chocolate & Wine Festival from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe. For information, contact Dawn Harris at Tahoe SAFE Alliance at alliancedawnh@tahoesafealliance.org or 775-298-0010.

Birthdays to celebrate this week: Dina Marshal on Oct. 3 and Donna Axton on Oct. 6. Happy Birthday.

The Deal or Steal for this week is to go to either the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District or the Incline Village Community hospital and get a flu shot. Flu season will be arriving soon.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, before 5 p.m. on Tuesday to jeanmeick@aol.com.
