Lake Tahoe Women Wellness Weekend

Hosted by Granlibakken Resort, Tahoe City, Nov. 9-10, cost $109. Granlibakken Resort will host the annual Lake Tahoe Women’s Wellness Weekend (WWW), Nov. 9 and 10. This long-loved program is alive with a complete schedule of speakers, exercise classes, vendor booths, health fair, food and wine. Medical doctors and health professionals present information on weight management, plastic surgery, addiction, common nutrient deficiencies and more. The event starts on Saturday with an optional yoga class (7 a.m.) and ends with a Zumba Party (4 p.m.) on Sunday. WWW is $109, additional charge for lodging and continuing education credit. Nevada County flu shots

Nevada County Public Health Department will offer flu shots for a cost of $15 in Truckee. Children, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5, 1-4 p.m. at the Nevada County Joseph Center, Donner Room, 10075 Levon Ave., Truckee. Adults every Wednesday by appointment only, 10 a.m.-noon. TTUSD Wellness Program update

Tahoe Truckee Unified School District High School Wellness Program Update. Challenge Day volunteers are needed for both Truckee High and North Tahoe High Schools. It is a great way to connect and support new freshmen. Paddlin’ for a Cause and Suicide Prevention

The community is invited to join the Tahoe Truckee Youth Suicide Prevention Task Force and Paddlin’ for a Cause founder, Eileen Allen from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bar of America on Nov. 14. Raffling off various fun items and announcing the winner of the grand prize from Paddlin’ for a Cause — a Waisup Paddle Board valued at $1,500. Paddlin’ for a Cause is a fundraising effort in honor of Clayton McDonnell to support the prevention of youth suicide. Enjoy the goodies and participate in a local’s silent auction, and meet the new Task Force Coordinator Amy Machin-Ward. Information about the Know the Signs campaign will be available. All proceeds benefit the Clayton McDonnell Memorial Fund with Charitysmith.org. which will provide scholarships to area high schools.
