The Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation announces Janet Pahl as a member of its distinguished Emeritus Board.

Pahl joined Parasol’s Board of Directors in 2006 when she was attracted to how Parasol strengthened the entire nonprofit sector and enhanced the community.

She has been an outstanding cheerleader for Parasol, has inspired others to get involved in local nonprofits and to make investments in the work of the organizations in order to change lives and make our community a better place to live, work and play.

“Janet is a strong voice in the community supporting Parasol and other nonprofits which enhance and benefit Incline Village and Lake Tahoe,” said Dean Meiling, past chair of Parasol’s Board of Directors. “Beyond her vocal support, Janet has been generous with her time and talent.”

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, she chaired Parasol’s annual fundraiser, the Community Table Dinner, in 2013 and 2014.

“Janet has been an amazing cheerleader for Parasol in the community and her dedication along with her knowledge of the community supported Parasol’s community outreach,” said David Hardie, Chairman of the Board.

A familiar face around Incline Village since 1978, Janet’s photo has been included in many newspaper editions as she has consistently been one of the top-selling Realtors in the community year after year for the past 30 years.

“Giving back to my community has always been important to me — whether through supporting local health care initiatives, caring for animals, providing children access to a quality education or promoting art as a public benefit,” Janet said.

Janet and her husband, Warren Kocmond, support many national and regional charitable organizations, along with favorite local organizations, including Sierra Nevada College, Lake Tahoe SummerFest and Pet Network.

“We are so pleased that Janet will continue to support Parasol and remain actively involved on our Emeritus Board, “said Claudia Andersen, CEO of Parasol.

Janet was honored with Parasol’s Emeritus Award for 2015 during the Parasol Open House held on Thursday, June 25.

Jean Eick is the communications manager for the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation.
