Sunshine Letter: Another successful Earth Day celebration
May 3, 2016
Once again, Mother Nature smiled on the Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival on April 16 and brought us beautiful weather that was enjoyed by all! We would like to thank our sponsors for making this year's festival such a success: Sierra Sun, Sara Zimmerman Art, Destination Media, Incline Village Waste Not, Tahoe Water Suppliers Assoc., Truckee Sanitary District, KVMR, Moonshine Ink, town of Truckee, Giese Accounting and Tax, and Squaw Valley Ski Resort.
Thank you to the 50-plus vendors who participated, sharing their knowledge on environmental stewardship and sustainability practices. The Asha Dancers and the Envirolution Club's Trashion Show provided entertainment, while the Nevada Discovery Museum kept our youngest generation busy with hands on eco-projects.
Finally, our appreciation goes out to the many volunteers, whom without their help the festival would not have been possible. We hope to see you all again next year!
