BEARy nice event
We have another SnowFest! under our belts and the BEAR League would like to thank all of the people who made our SnowFest! event "Paint the Bear" a complete success once again.
First, we would like to thank North Tahoe Arts for co-sponsoring the event with us again this year and to Wendy Cook and Kellie Cutler for the great organization. Second, sincere thanks to Mr. Jim Driscoll and his 1 p.m. woodworking class at Truckee High School for making the wooden bears the young artists had the pleasure of painting.
We could not have gotten it all done without the help of BEAR League members Marlene Prins, Kim Ferguson, Ted and Sherry Guzzi, Traelynn Ramsey-Neal, The Ferrall family, Karen Wagner who read to the children while they waited their turn to paint, and last but not least Christina Steele, our lovable bear.
The artists enjoyed apple juice and homemade bear-shaped cookies with a little chocolate thrown in for good measure while their parents took in the bear art that was displayed on the walls. Truly, we could not have done it without every one of these energetic volunteers and we are so grateful for their service. The event would have been nothing without the young people who enjoyed making the bears that now grace so many walls in their homes.
See you next year!
