Sunshine Letter: Truckee Optimist Club Christmas Tree Lot thanks

The Truckee Optimist Club would like to thank everyone for purchasing their Christmas tree from the Truckee Optimist Tree Lot again this year. The lot has been in existence for well over 30 years and it has attracted many loyal friends and customers who have made it a tradition to purchase their tree at the lot and to support the Youth of the community.

This year nearly 800 trees were sold and profits will be added to the Truckee Optimist Club annual budget of approximately $60,000 which funds scholarships, youth activities (education, sports, the arts, etc.) and special grants to Truckee youth programs.

Special thanks go to Save Mart Supermarkets for allowing the Optimist Club to use the northeast end of the Crossroads Shopping Center parking lot and to Village Pizzeria and CVS Pharmacy for allowing the use of their adjoining parking spaces.

Also thank you to Tahoe Truckee Sierra Disposal Company, Truckee Tahoe Propane for donating their services; as well as to the club members, volunteers, and youth from many of our sponsored programs who helped man the tree lot and insured its success.

Truckee Optimist Club President
