Tree of giving up at Glenshire General Store, Mountain Hardware

Staff report

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County’s “Big Tree of Giving” — displaying gift tags with a “wish list” item for each one of the agency’s “Littles” — will be set up at Mountain Hardware and the Glenshire General Store from Friday Nov. 21, through Dec. 19.

“We like to make sure each of our ‘Littles’ has a gift under the tree during this holiday season,” explains Peggy Martin, Community Development Director. “We offer this giving opportunity to the community so our ‘Bigs,’ who give some much all year long to their ‘Littles,’ don’t feel obligated.”

Donations need to be returned to the Big Brothers Big Sisters office no later than Dec. 19 to make sure they are delivered to the child for the holiday season.

Cash donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters for gifts and match activities will also be accepted at Mountain Hardware in the donation box under the tree.

Or, those wishing to donate via credit card can do so online at bigsofnc.org through the PayPal link.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County and North Lake Tahoe is an affiliate member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a national nonprofit dedicated to creating a volunteer base where every at-risk child and youth who needs and wants a mentor can be matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister.
