Truckee Library supports Read Up literacy program

TRUCKEE, Calif. — A big thank you to the Friends of the Truckee Library for funding the purchase of Book 1, “Practice Makes Perfect Series: English Vocabulary for the Beginning ESL Learner,” as well as the Oxford Bilingual English-Spanish Picture Dictionary.

Both of these books will be presented to our new ESL Read Up students here in Truckee.

Read Up is the Nevada County wide literacy program, based at the Truckee Library, which offers tutoring services in reading, writing, speaking and math to Truckee community residents. Tutors are dedicated and experienced volunteers from our community.
