Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village
Special to the Bonanza
The lazy hazy or smoky days of summer are upon us. And soon we will have every street in the village covered and we will once again be able to drive on them. Hooray!
You still have time to attend the Tastes of Incline annual Fundraiser at The Chateau. It begins at 4:30 p.m. tonight, Aug. 22.
The Shabby Chic event at Sierra Verde Home Design Center is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Village Center lower level. This fundraiser for Tahoe Family Solutions will be a good time. For tickets call 775-298-0004.
Remember to sign up for the free community forum, “Insights into Brain Health,” at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, in the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center.
World-class experts from the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Brain Center in Las Vegas will talk about Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and the state-of-the-art patient care and treatments available.
Community sponsors include Incline Village Community Hospital, The North Lake Tahoe Bonanza, The Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation and The Sierra Sun. The forum is free but please make a reservation at http://www.parasol.org/reservations or call Jean Eick at 775-298-0184.
Tickets for the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation 2013 Community Table on Friday, Sept. 6, at the Shakespeare Ranch in Glenbrook are now available.
Award-winning Chef Nancy Oakes and her staff from Boulevard in San Francisco will be preparing an amazing dinner for this event. Visit http://www.parasol.org/commnity for tickets.
A couple of other events to plan ahead to attend include the Washoe County Sheriff’s picnic on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Aspen Grove, and the annual Dog Day in the Park, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in the North Tahoe Regional Park. Raffle tickets are available even if you cannot attend. For information call Pam Berger at 530-546-4770.
Not sure what happened with Nine and Wine last weekend but rumor is we have a special cocktail named for one of the weekly participants.
Maybe that is why no information about the winning team is available.
Summer bowling is wrapping up now and it will not be long until winter bowling begins again in September. Watch for more details about winter bowling in the weeks ahead.
Only one birthday to celebrate this week: Happy Birthday Elbert Zendner on Aug. 27.
The best deal and steal in the village this week is at the Hacienda with a local’s lunch special on Fridays through Labor Day. Go enjoy!
As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries, and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
