Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village

Usually we are entering the best days at Tahoe with the kids back in school, the beaches and trails quiet and locals can enjoy everything the visitors have experienced all summer long. Unfortunately with the smoke, most locals are in lock down. Let’s all hope the fires will be out soon and we can still find time to get out and play.

Join Mark Twain, presented by McAvoy Layne, for an evening of Wine and Wisdom from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, at Sugar Pine Point State Park. Also includes a tour of Hellman-Ehrman Estate. Call 530-583-991 or visit for tickets and reservations.

Joe Wolfe and John Iannucci have earned golf bragging rights. This dynamic duo won at the prestigious Langley Golf tournament. Way to go!

And congratulations to Howard Beckerman for the hole-in-one. His lucky shot was on Aug. 22 on hole number 2 at the Mountain Golf Course. Good job!

If you still do not have tickets for the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation 2013 Community Table on Friday, Sept. 6, at the Shakespeare Ranch in Glenbrook, visit for your tickets. Award winning Chef Nancy Oakes and her staff from Boulevard in San Francisco will be preparing an amazing dinner for this event.

Another Save the Date, for the annual Tahoe Fall Fest on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Big Water Grille. This is the annual fundraiser for Tahoe’s Connection for Families and more information will be available soon for tickets but contact for sponsorship information now.

Happy 25th Anniversary to Deborah and Stu Fishman on Aug. 27. Congratulations!

Before August ends let’s wish Paul Reynolds a Happy Birthday. Other birthdays for the week: Kathy Long and Sharon Kennedy on Sept. 2. Happy Birthday!

The best deal and steal in the Village this week is still at the Hacienda. They feature an amazing local’s lunch special on Friday’s through Labor Day and Happy Hour drink specials all day. Great way to start the weekend. Go enjoy!

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries, and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, to
