Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village
Special to the Bonanza
Let the pray for snow parties begin. Now is the time for Mother Nature to make her visit to our village. Let’s hope it will be often and we can see some large storms.
Project MANA’s Let’s Talk Turkey program provides a turkey along with all of the traditional items to local families in need and it is so easy to participate. Just drop off a frozen turkey, canned goods or a check to Project MANA in the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center at 948 Incline Way, Incline Village.
Incline Village Community Business Association is also gathering toys for the Incline Community Toy Drive. Drop off new, unwrapped toys in one of the collection barrels located around the village now or go online to http://www.visitinclinevillage.com and make a donation. A special collection will be held during the Christmas Tree Village Mixer on Friday, Dec. 6.
The annual Tahoe Community Thanksgiving Celebration is almost here. This will happen on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28 at the North Tahoe Event Center. To learn more visit tahoecommunitythanksgiving@gmail.com or call Meera Beser at 775-230-1066.
On Friday, Nov. 22, The Mark Twain Cultural Center & Toccata Guttman Music Hall is presenting Chautauqua — Theodore Roosevelt; and on Saturday, Nov. 30, the center is celebrating Mark Twain’s 178th birthday. For information and reservations call 775-833-1835.
The Bowlers to Veterans Link on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Gold Dust West was a huge success with more than 80 participants. Thank you to one and all for support for this event, which benefits veterans.
A few birthdays to celebrate this week: Ace Zendner on Nov. 13; Zander Wallpe on Nov. 20; and Bea Epstein on Nov. 21. Happy Birthday!
The best deal and steal in the village this week is at the Incline Village Historical Society located in the Starbucks Building. Several board members and volunteers have now completed several new pieces for the exhibit and it is worth the stop to learn more about the history of Incline Village and Crystal Bay.
As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries, and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, to jeanmeick@aol.com.
