Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village

Maybe, just maybe this week we will get enough new snow to cover the brown areas around the village and stay around for a while. I know March madness begins next week so anything is possible.

The deadline for applications to Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation for the host sites for 2014-2015 AmeriCorps members is on Feb. 28. To learn more about host sites for the Parasol AmeriCorps program or to fill out the application visit http://www.parasol.org or call Allison at 775-298-0186.

It is time for kindergarten registration at Incline Elementary School. Children that will be 5 by Sept. 30, 2014, are eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2014-2015 School Year. Registration is from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, March 3, at Incline Elementary School. For information about items needed to register call 775-832-4250.



SnowFest! Girls Night Out Bunco Bash is from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5. This is a benefit for the Gene Upshaw Memorial Cancer Center at Tahoe Forest Hospital. Tickets sell out quickly and are available at activitytickets.com or Bar Bar Bar and Rockwood Tree Service. For information call Carol King at 530-546-7542.

To help WARF and the Northern Nevada Bulldog Rescue go to Reno from 1-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, for a special fundraiser at the Hacienda at 10580 N. McCarran Blvd. Tickets will go on sale on March 15. For information visit facebook.com/events/276780262479508.

Congratulations to local artist Matt Dodge. His work will be on display at Wolfdale’s in Tahoe City until mid-May.

A big shout out to Incline Bowlers Ronnie Rector, Stevie Walton and Jim Wilber for the stellar finishes in the CCUSBC Senior Tournament. All were first place finishers in their divisions. Congratulations.

Happy Anniversary to Misty and Marius Moga. Also a Happy Birthday shout out to Marius Moga on Feb. 28.
