Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village
Special to the Bonanza
Of course, the spring celebrations begin and winter decides to make an appearance. Now all of our spring flowers will look like frozen popsicles. Thank you Mother Nature. But my guess is you can just move the golf clubs into the closet for a week or so and our flowers are probably going to survive.
Winter did arrive in time for Tahoe SAFE Alliance to enjoy ski days. The annual Ski Days at Sugar Bowl begins on Sunday, March 30, and continues through Friday, April 4. Purchase a ticket before 5 p.m. Friday, March 28, at http://www.tahoesafealliance.org or call 775-298-0010.
Incline Elementary School has been celebrating “Reading is a Window to the World” all week long. What a great event and thank you to all of the teachers, assistants and students.
Learn more about Nevada with Mark Twain and Shiloh at the Sesquicentennial Show at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, at the Mark Twain Cultural Center & Toccata Guttman Music Hall in the Village Center. For tickets email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 775-833-1835.
WARF and the Northern Nevada Bulldog Rescue will hold a special fundraiser in Reno from 1-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, at the Hacienda at 10580 N. McCarran Blvd. Tickets are now on sale. Visit facebook.com/events/276780262479508 for information.
The annual dinner at Big Water Grille for Tahoe Family Solutions begins at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13. This event sells out so be sure to get tickets now. For information visit http://www.tahoefamily.org or call 775-298-0004.
Save the Date of June 7 for a very special hike with your dog. This is hosted by Natural Paws and will benefit the Pet Network Humane Society and the Canine Rehabilitation Center & Sanctuary. For more information visit http://www.naturalpawsreno.com or call 775-853-3533.
Oh yes, the bowling crew is up to something and I just need to find out what. I did hear about a Battle of the House tournament on April 6 but what happens in the lanes stays in the lanes. I think someone needs to be a snitch.
Birthdays to celebrate this week: Deborah Hackett on March 27 and Natalie Tiras on March 29. Happy Birthday!
