Hooray, Hooray, it is May. I hope everyone had a chance to attend the Incline Star Follies last weekend. It was a spectacular show and thank you for another group of stars.

Remember that Mother’s Day is almost here, and you need to make reservations now if you plan to take mom out. To give mom a special Lake Tahoe gift, from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, May 2, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 3, stop by Handmade at the Lake, enjoy a glass of wine and find some amazing handmade gifts.

From 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, participate in the Empty Bowls event at the Holman Arts and Media Center located at 1008 Highway 28 (next door to the Community Church). This event not only will help fight international hunger but it also supports Project MANA, Meals on Wheels and the Deacon’s Food Closet. Visit for more information.

At 7 p.m. on May 10 at the Mark Twain Cultural Center and Toccata Guttman Music Hall in the Village Center, attend the presentation by Bob Stewart, co-author of the award-winning book The Gold Rush Letters. He will have a conversation about the people and events that led Sam Clemens to Tahoe. For reservations email or call 775-833-1835.

A huge welcome to our community to Steve Pinkerton. He is the new general manager of the Incline Village General Improvement District.

Congrats to Brenda Martinez and Devin Roeder as they welcome a new baby girl to the family.

The best deal and steal this week is to head over to the Hacienda and check out the Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Monday, May 5. The party begins at 4 p.m. and is always filled with live music, food specials and lots of entertainment.
