Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village

Oh yes it is time for the annual snow event for Memorial weekend. It always snows at Tahoe to celebrate the opening of the lake. Lots of local barbecues and yard sales planned for this weekend as well as projects like cleaning out the garage or enjoying a new pantry. Of course, taking center stage is the official opening of the lake.
If you want to celebrate with a parade, head over to Virginia City. The parade starts at noon on Saturday, May 24, and celebrates the heroism and sacrifice of those Americans who died defending our freedom. Freedom is not free.

Plan now to participate in the village clean up. The Incline Village/Crystal Bay Community Cleanup Day is Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. Please help the Incline Elementary School as a volunteer tutor for its summer reading Program. Children in grades Pre-K through fourth-grade will participate in this special summer program. No experience tutoring needed just a desire to help children read. Training will be provided. Tutors will work with 2-3 students Monday-Thursday for 1 hour at Incline Elementary School. Summer bowling started this week at Bowl Incline. Hopefully we will hear more about what our local bowlers are up to this summer.
