What a wonderful surprise to have a real snow event, complete with power outages. Tahoe is back! Let March madness continue as we spring forward this weekend.

Yes, it is time to give up an hour of sleep overnight Saturday so you can see more daylight. Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour when you get up Sunday morning, March 8.

The Women's Club of North Tahoe will host a luncheon featuring Tony Tuoto at noon on Monday, March 16, at Tomaato's. The presentation by Tuoto will be on health through essential oils. To attend, RSVP to Florine Kubal by Thursday, March 12, at 775-831-9235.

Tickets for the Tahoe Family Solutions special presentation of Nando Parrado on Monday, Aug. 10, during the Monday night performances at the Shakespeare venue at Sand Harbor go on sale March 16. Visit http://www.tahoefamily.org for updates and to purchase tickets or contact Elyse Gut at cheshire54@aol.com or call 214-906-5454.

It is time for Star Follies on March 20-21 at Incline High School. Tickets available at the Potlatch.

Birthdays to celebrate this week: Jerry Hagy on March 5, a "big" birthday for Diane Finegan on March 6, and Steve King on March 8. And a huge shout-out to Bonanza/Sierra Sun Editor Kevin MacMillan, as his birthday is March 9.
