Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village
Special to the Bonanza
Sure, winter always returns to Tahoe once we have Easter. That is just fine — we will take all of the snow and rain we can get this year. Bring it on for Tax Day on Wednesday, April 15. No one cares what the weather is for Tax Day.
Remember to Splash into Spring at the Pet Extravaganza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Hot Diggity Dog and Cat in Kings Beach. This is a fundraiser for WARF and the Save the Shelter Fund. Grooming and other great pet opportunities plus a raffle will be happening.
The Tahoe Nevada Chapter of American Association of University Women holds its monthly dinner Wednesday, April 15, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. Fred Lokken, professor of Political Science at Tahoe Meadows Community College, will speak on Women in Technology. For the past 10 years, Professor Lokken has been a member of the board of directors of the Instructional Technology Council based in Washington, D.C. To RSVP, Contact Abby Kirst at email@example.com no later than Monday, April 13.
On April 21 from 3-4 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center, the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada will host a meet and greet for its new executive director, Zanny Marsh. Light refreshments will be served.
Join Tahoe Family Solutions for Fiesta De Tahoe on May 5 at the Big Water Grille. The evening includes a gourmet four course dinner with wine and a champagne reception starting at 5:30 p.m. Visit tahoefamily.org for tickets.
The Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation annual Community Table is Friday, September 11. This is an incredible wine and food event with an award winning celebrity chef at the Shakespeare Ranch. Sponsorships are now available and for information contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call Jean Eick at 775-832-5645.
Bowling news at last. The Battle of the Houses is coming up at Bowl Incline on April 19. It is trios, and bragging rights are at stake, so all CCUSBC bowlers in Incline Village should be working on putting their trios together so the trophy can be placed in Incline at Bowl Incline! Go Incline bowlers.
A shout out and Congratulations to Susan Herron for completing the 2015 Derby Day 5K at Santa Anita Park on April 4. Way to go Susan!
Happy anniversary to Jim Glazier and Millie Sherman on April 15. Great way to celebrate tax day.
Birthdays to celebrate this week: Gerry Eick on April 13 and Aaron Zendner on April 15. Happy Birthday!
