Village Notes: What’s happening in Incline Village
Special to the Bonanza
It is definitely spring in our village as the trash around the village continues to grow, and more and more residents are noticing. Earth Day is Wednesday, April 22, and with the theme “It’s our turn to lead,” maybe we can all get out and do a little cleaning up. We do have a Community Cleanup Day scheduled in May but we really need to start now. It is bad.
From 3-4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, stop at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center and meet Zanny Marsh, new executive director of the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada. Light refreshments will be served.
The Incline Village & Crystal Bay Historical Society welcomes McAvoy Layne at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 24 to its new Mark Twain Room for Mark Twain’s Tales of Tahoe. The Mark Twain Room is located behind the exhibit area for the Historical Society in the Starbucks building. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Contact email@example.com or call 775-833-1835 to purchase tickets.
Join Tahoe Family Solutions for Fiesta De Tahoe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, at the Big Water Grille. The evening includes a gourmet four course dinner with wine and a champagne reception. Visit tahoefamily.org to purchase tickets.
The IV/CB Community Clean Up Day is from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 9. Volunteers are needed to help clean up our streets and trails. Meet at Aspen Grove at 8 a.m. to register, form teams, receive collection bags and location assignments. Wear sturdy gloves, work clothes, long sleeved shirts, wide brim hats and work gloves. Remember your refillable water bottle and sunscreen, and children must be accompanied by an adults. Thank you to IVGID Waste Not and Incline Rotary for sponsoring this event.
