As usual summer is arriving with all of its entertainment — smoke, sunshine and lots of visitors.

Get ready as the real challenge is yet to come with the Fourth of July just around the corner. Please remember to help all of our visitors follow fire safety rules.

Mark Twain will receive a plaque for the First Prescribed Burn in the Tahoe Basin at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 26. Twain’s Tales of Tahoe A Performance by McAvoy Layne happens in the Mark Twain Room at the historical Exhibit in the Starbucks Building. Seating is limited. At 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at TCES 139 on the Sierra Nevada College campus, community members with business ideas, businesses and mentors are invited to a session with a secure opportunity to set and accomplish new goals in moving your business forward.
