Oh yes it is true, swimsuit season is back and all you need to do to confirm is go to Raley’s. A word of caution for locals — shop early.

Happy Birthday America! Let’s celebrate our country this weekend. Take time to remember the many, many hard-working folks at our fire district, all of the law enforcement people and other volunteers. Thank you for all you do to keep our community safe.

Mark Twain’s Tales of Tahoe is a family oriented performance by McAvoy Layne at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Lake Tahoe School. Seating is limited and reservations are encouraged. Call 775-831-5828 for reservations and information.

North Shore Democrats are invited to join Washoe Democratic Party executive board members and staff at 5:30 p.m. July 7 at the Incline Village Library. This will be the monthly membership meeting and feature a guest speaker.

The North Lake Tahoe Community Health Care Auxiliary will hold its Old Fashioned Lobster Feed at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 16, on the Lakeview Terrace of the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach. For tickets, contact Nan Healy at 775-832-0939.

Tahoe Family Solutions fundraiser, Shabby Chic is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. On Tuesday, July 28, at Aspen Grove. On Monday, August 10, Nando Parrado will present “Miracle in the Andes” at the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival venue. Proceeds will from this will also benefit Tahoe Family Solutions.
