Village Notes: What’s happening to Incline Village

This will be a great weekend to get out and clean up our village. To participate in the Incline Village/Crystal Bay Community Cleanup Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 7, check in at the IVGID Recreation Center for a location and go out to help clean up our village. On Saturday, June 7, you and your dog are invited to participate in a very special hike hosted by Natural Paws. Celebrate the 150th Birthday of Nevada and meet some interesting characters from 1862 to 2014. Attend the fun and entertaining luncheon and Fashion Show with Notable and Notorious Women of Nevada in period costumes at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, at The Chateau. The annual Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation Open House is from 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 26. Parasol is celebrating 18 years of community with light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Non-Profit Center. Tours of the building will be available. Volunteer to be a tutor at the Incline Elementary School for the summer reading Program. Help children in grades Pre-K- 4th grade in this special summer program. No experience tutoring needed just a desire to help children read. Training will be provided. Tutors will work with 2-3 students Monday to Thursday for 1 hour at Incline Elementary School. Some of Incline’s most spectacular homes, gardens and art collections will be on the tour in the annual self-guided AAUW Tahoe Treasures Tour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. Tickets are on sale at the Potlatch with the proceeds from this fundraiser going to support AAUW’s scholarship program for local women.
