What’s happening in our community

As we turn the calendar to August this weekend maybe some of the issues in our roundabout will end. It seems some folks do not understand a roundabout is to keep traffic moving. It has been very challenging lately so drive carefully if using the roundabout. It could be very interesting under the blue moon on Friday night!

Please remember that our bears are very busy right now as they heard about El Niño and want to be prepared. A couple local bears spent last weekend behind bars until they promised to move out of town. Please help them stay safe in our village.

The Lake Tahoe SummerFest concerts start this weekend and offer another great summer activity.  Visit tahoesummerfest.org for information and to purchase tickets.

The Incline Village Library has lots of fun programs coming up. Please visit online at http://www.washoecountylibrary.us for more information or stop at the library and learn more.

Happy anniversary on Aug. 3 to Aaron and Danielle Zendner.

Happy Birthday to Steve Andersen on Aug. 2 and Rebecca Layne on Aug. 3. And we have an amazing birthday bash involving Dick Moore. It is called the 40-80-40 party and involves his son-in-law, Andrew and daughter-in-law Sarah. Stay tuned for more information on who is turning 80 and when.

The Deal or Steal this week is to go to the free family concert presented by Lake Tahoe SummerFest. This community concert is free but space is limited. To be a part of this hands-on discovery about the thrill of music, reserve places for your family now by visit tahoesummerfest.org  or stop at their office located in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, before 5 p.m. on Tuesday to jeanmeick@aol.com.
