FLORISTON, Calif. and#8212; Another big rig overturned Friday morning on Interstate 80, but this time only dumping a little salt, rather than 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel.
At about 11 a.m., the big rig hauling salt to the Caltrans salt barn in Floriston was backing up to deliver its load when its tires caught and the trailer overturned, spilling about 100 pounds of salt in the parking lot.
California Highway Patrol Officer Steve Skeen said personnel on site were able to clean up the salt and put it into the storage barn.
and#8220;They just scooped it up and moved it 15 feet to where they were storing it anyway,and#8221; Skeen said. and#8220;It was all picked up and done by 2 o’clock or so.and#8221;
