CRYSTAL BAY, Nev. — Those looking to dance next week at the Crystal Bay Club will have the opportunity to get down (under) in the Crown Room.

New Zealand producer “Opiuo” will perform with hisband Wednesday evening, bringing funkadelic bass music to the North Shore of Lake Tahoe.

For Opiuo, “making music has been an undeniable passion that encapsulates his every moment,” according to his biography.

The producer who now calls Australia home first gained international recognition in 2010 with his single “Robo Booty” from his debut album “Slurp and Giggle,” which, according to his website, was a finalist for Best Dance/Electro Release at the Australian Independent Music Awards that year.

His music has since reached the No. 1 position during various times on the iTunes, Hype Machine, Beatport and Addictech charts.

Further, racking up 5 million plays on his Soundcloud page, Opiuo swept the 2013 UK Glitch-Hop Awards with 5 wins.

His latest full-length album “Meraki” was a finalist for the Best Electronica Album at the New Zealand Music Awards 2014.

According to his website, Opiuo has performed alongside MC Hammer, Pretty Lights and Bassnectar, among other artists. Visit to learn more about what’s cooking down under.
