OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. — The sun is spilling over the mountains.
You’re leaned and stretched in a yoga pose.
Acoustic guitars and percussions are filling your eardrums.
If you’re one of thousands of people who have converged the past few summers at Squaw Valley for the Wanderlust Festival — the largest multi-day yoga and music festival in the world — you’ve likely been entrenched in this very serene moment before.
To loosen up your excitement for this summer’s annual event, Wanderlust recently announced the lineup for its 2016 summer festivals.
Returning to North Lake Tahoe for the seventh-straight year, Wanderlust Squaw Valley, which runs July 14-17, will be headlined by Beats Antique, an electronica trio steeped in percussion-heavy world fusion music.
Other musical acts on tap for the festival include R&B musician Son Little, folk rock band Magic Giant, and electronic producers and performers DJ Drez and Kaminada, among others.
Though it is one of six North American resorts where the Wanderlust Festival is held each summer, Squaw Valley holds a special place in the hearts of attendees, said Kim Small, director of publicity for Wanderlust.
“Squaw Valley was our very first event,” she said. “The event has grown steadily year after year and we’ve continued to add more innovative programming, as well as unexpected surprises and delights. We look forward to 2016 being our best year yet.”
In addition to an eclectic batch of music acts, the Wanderlust Festival includes hundreds of activities — from yoga and meditation sessions with world-renowned instructors to stand-up paddleboarding across Tahoe — as well as farm-to-table dinners.
“Wanderlust is an opportunity to choose your own adventure and live it in a beautiful location like Squaw Valley,” said Small, who noted that the event has seen an annual average attendance of roughly 6,000 people. “This magical place has inspired us to continually innovate around how people can play harmoniously with nature. We look forward to bringing together a collective of mindful people to celebrate, exchange ideas and experience the good things in life at this unique getaway.”
