Bell, Richard Lambert

Richard Lambert Bell of Truckee died peacefully on April 26. He was 84 years old.

Richard was born in Glendora, Calif., to parents James George Bell and Lena Edna Bell. He was a third-generation Californian who grew up to proudly serve in the 85th Army Airforce Depot Repair Squad of the 8th Army Division. Following his time in the service, Richard served as a heavy equipment operator for Caltrans from 1952 until his retirement 32 years later in 1984. He earned his associate’s degree from Citrus College of California. Richard also served proudly as the secretary, treasurer and Noble Grand of the International Order of Odd Fellows.

He was preceded in death by his son John George Bell, who died at age 40 in 1995, and brothers James George Bell and Paul Bell.



Richard is survived by his wife, Patsy June Bell; daughter, Judy Lynne; son, Terry Edward; granddaughters, Tara, Nicole, and Breean; his sister, Mary Joy Wormsbaker; and brother, Kenny Bell.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Truckee Tahoe Mortuary, Church Street, Truckee. A graveside visit will follow, with a community reunion afterward at the Truckee Veteran’s Hall on High Street.
