Biden to look at stimulus work in national parks

The Associated Press

WASHINGTON and#8212; Vice President Joe Biden will head west next week to check on the progress of stimulus-funded projects in some of the country’s national parks.

The White House says Biden will visit Yellowstone on Monday, followed by a trip to the Grand Canyon Tuesday. About $25 million from the $862 billion stimulus went to construction and maintenance projects in the national parks.

The Obama administration has been a big supporter of the national parks. President Barack Obama and his family vacationed in Maine’s Acadia National Park last week, and visited Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon last summer.
