Bless the creatures great and small: St. Nocholas Episcopal holds service

For all of you who consider your pets part of the family, there will be a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 5, at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church. This service harkens back to St. Francis of Assisi, who is said to have talked to and prayed with the animals. The blessing will occur during the regular Sunday service and will include prayers, readings and music appropriate to the occasion.

All friendly pets, and their people, are welcome and after the service there will be coffee and sweets for the humans and treats for the animals. St. Nicholas Episcopal Church is located 1/2 mile south of Tahoe City, at 855 West Lake Blvd. The service will start at 9 a.m.
