Boreal ski area to re-open July 10-11; Kirkwood re-opening for July 4 weekend

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; For those skiers and riders who didn’t get enough of the winter of 2010, Boreal Mountain has you covered.

The Truckee-area resort announced Friday it is planning to re-open some of its lifts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, July 11.

Lift passes cost $20 each day for the resort’s “July Shred Fest.” Resort officials plan to open the mountain’s terrain park.

Boreal is located off the Boreal Ridge Road exit of Interstate 80.

Elsewhere in the Sierra, Kirkwood Mountain Resort in Kirkwood, Calif., is re-opening for the 4th of July weekend. The mountain will open for skiing and riding Friday, July 2- Sunday, July 4. Tickets are $32 for a full day and $22 for a half day, starting at 12:30 p.m.

Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., is open through Sunday, July 4 for skiing and riding. Tickets are $69 for adults.
