Brink named Nurse of the Year
During National Nurses Recognition Week, Beverly Brink, the interim manager of Tahoe Forest Hospital’s emergency room, was honored as Nurse of the Year.
The recognition came after more than 25 years of service to TFH.
“Everyone in this department was so happy for (Brink),” said Colleen Wilford, a fellow emergency room nurse and co-worker with Brink for 10 years. “She really deserves this award.”
The Nurse of the Year award is determined by hospital staff, who nominate nurses and provide examples of what sets nominated individuals apart.
“Most of the people nominated are extremely good with patients,” said Wilford.
In all, 28 nurses were nominated for the award. A selection committee, made up of previous years’ winners, gave Brink the distinction.
Brink’s award includes a cash prize as well as other gifts.
“I feel really fortunate to work with the staff that I do in the emergency room and the hospital,” commented Brink. “I think this is a great place to work.”
