Business council to meet

On Feb. 24, the Sierra Business Council will host developer Tom DiGiovanni and designer/builder John Andersen, who will present an overview of how the elements of the Sierra Nevada’s traditional towns can be assembled in today’s development climate.

The presentation is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

They will discuss how to shift new development patterns away from suburban strips, shopping malls and housing tracts toward traditional neighborhoods and small town design.

The one-hour slide presentation is part of the SBC’c regular series of membership forums, which bring together members and guests to learn about the most innovative approaches to land use planning, economic development and other topics of interest to business and government leaders in the Sierra Nevada.

Tickets to the event cost $18 and include lunch at the Cottonwood Restaurant, catered by the Passage.

Seating is limited.

For reservations, call 582-4800 on or before Feb. 16.
