Art will combine with soul Saturday in downtown Truckee
TRUCKEE, Calif. — The the second annual Art & Soul Downtown Truckee ArtWalk combines visual art, live music, artist demonstrations, craft beer tastings, small bites and more in Historic Downtown Truckee.
It’s set to take place Saturday, Sept. 17, from 1-6 p.m., presented by the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association.
Stroll through Art & Soul’s 30 stops celebrating Truckee’s artist community and have fun while giving back, because a percentage of the proceeds will go to to Arts for the Schools.
“We love supporting Truckee and Reno’s art culture and revival with locals and visitors alike; Arts for the Schools was a great choice for us because they, like us, believe access and exposure to the arts is essential for all,” said Cassie Hebel, Executive Director for the TDMA.
Art & Soul will take over downtown Truckee’s sidewalks and the new plazas with sculptures, live music and artist demonstrations.
Ticket holders will enjoy interactive artist demonstrations, craft beer/wine tastings and small bites of local fare. Many locations will also be providing shopping/drink discounts.
“Last year’s event was a success in many ways — the community, locals and visitors alike loved celebrating Truckee’s art culture,” says Hebel. “We are celebrating our entire local artisan community including Truckee’s amazing photographers, oil painters, jewelry designers, musicians and culinary artists.”
Tickets for Art & Soul are $35 in advance and $42 at the door. Group tickets are also available. Advance tickets can be purchased at historictruckee.com or locally at Cooking Gallery.
A portion of the event’s proceeds goes to Arts for the Schools. Visit artsfortheschools.org to learn more.
