TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Tuesday, April 12, Good Morning Truckee meeting will focus on the business of both medical and recreational marijuana

According to the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce, Allen Best, Editor/Publisher of Mountain Towns News based in Colorado, and David Abarta, owner of the Green Trees Wellness medical marijuana distributor in Truckee, will speak at the meeting.

Best, a Colorado-based journalist, writes for a variety of newspapers and magazines on top of publishing the Mountain Towns News e-magazine. He will reportedly present information on the pros and cons; perceptions and realities; and challenges from a federal, state and local level regarding the drug.

“He … has written extensively on the topic, including reporting on a survey commissioned by the Colorado Tourism Office to gauge how medical marijuana dispensaries or recreational cannabis stores is affecting tourism, or the economic impact such as tax collections in different Colorado communities,” according to a news release from the chamber.
