Carole Anderson joins Parasol Tahoe board
March 11, 2015
David Hardie, chairman of the Board of the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, recently announced the appointment of Carole Kilgore Anderson as a new director.
Anderson is one of Parasol's founding board members, serving from 1997-2001, and has been an Emeritus Board member since 2005.
"Parasol has succeeded beyond the founding dreams. This success has many components, but certainly a dedicated, talented board and a highly professional staff are two major elements," said Anderson. "When board-chair David Hardie approached me about returning to the board as Parasol begins a process of self-assessment to put in place the policies and structure to carry this success into the future, it was an irresistible opportunity to re-engage with a stellar institution that is dear to me."
Anderson formerly served on the board of the Akron Art Museum, Akron, Ohio; the Ohio governor's special commission on the advancement of best practices for special education; the Women's Board of the Field Museum in Chicago; the Women's Board of the Children Home & Aid Society in Chicago; and the Board of The Western Folklife Center in Elko, Nev., where she is currently a member of the National Advisory Board.
She is a member of the board of the Nevada Museum of Art and the Nevada Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. She has been an Incline Village resident since 1996 and very engaged in the community.
"Carole's knowledge of Parasol and its responsibility to be excellent stewards of the charitable funds entrusted to our care will be strong assets on our Board," said Hardie. "She is a Board member with strong community ties and a keen appreciation for the arts."
