Final stretch for Best Of North Lake Tahoe & Truckee

Who is the best of the best, really? It’s time again to settle the question in a final round of voting.

The lineup of finalists came from you choosing nominations between April 16 and May 6. The top finishers in each category are in the final runoff until voting ends June 7.

Yep, the Best Of North Lake Tahoe & Truckee contest is in the final stretch. In the proud tradition of certain elections in America’s history, we encourage you to vote early and often for your favorite restaurant and doctor, ski resort, furniture store, summer event.

No fake Democrats. Not even a real Republican. This is all for fun, and bragging rights.

Nothing could be more patriotic than voting, right? But like all muscles, it needs exercise. Let the celebration of democracy carry us to the Fourth of July weekend, then. Then we’ll celebrate with a special section listing the winners.

As in every other Best Of contest, you can vote once each day if you like. We hope you do. Go ahead, it’s not even illegal.

The best part of the Best Of contest might well be the research. No dry, droning speeches, no long position papers, no dirty tricksters and no mud slinging. No hassle of mailing it in, either. And no Russian hackers, unless they happen to be visiting this great part of America and wish to participate.

Maybe time for a visit to your favorite restaurant, store or service. Then go to and vote, and vote again tomorrow.

The entries were up to you in the nomination round, and the final winners will be, as well. Check out the categories and vote for your favorite. Last year, we had more than 30,000 votes, which was terrific. The businesses, winners and runners up could celebrate the success of their efforts and yes, their marketing impact, also incredibly important to success.

Speaking of marketing, businesses interested in promoting their offerings and encourage votes can contact us at for marketing options.

Winners will be announced over the Fourth of July weekend in the annual Best Of publication and online. Best of luck to the businesses that make up the lifeblood of North Lake Tahoe and Truckee.
