North Tahoe’s Austins Restaurant sold to local couple

Staff report

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The BTI Group in Reno recently announced the sale of Austins Restaurant on Country Club Drive to Jonas and Nellie Saia.

The Incline Village couple were longtime employees of the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe.

“We will be keeping everything exactly as it is,” Jonas Saia said in a statement. “We bought Austins due to its excellent reputation in the community and its commitment to provide quality home-style cooking at fair prices.”

Jonas, also a licensed business broker with BTI Group in Reno, will continue to pursue that career as he operates the restaurant with Nellie, according to a news release.

Sellers John and Ashley Brimm made the decision after opening Mountain High Sandwich Co. just a few doors down in the Country Club Mall this summer.

Their new gourmet deli focuses on providing natural, organic ingredients along with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options in addition to traditional deli offerings.

“The Brimms were careful in who they chose as a buyer (for Austins),” according to the BTI news release. “They wanted someone they felt was the right fit for the community and their restaurant and they believe the Saias are the right couple for Austins.”
