Small business seminar set for next week in Tahoe City

Staff report

The Tahoe City Downtown Association and Sierra Small Business Development Center are offering a free small business workshop — “Bootstramp, Crowfund, Loans … oh my! Demystifying Access to Capital to Your Business.”

The event is set for Tuesday, April 26, from 8-10 a.m. at the Tahoe City Public Utility District, 221 Fairway Drive, Tahoe City.

“This workshop will walk you through the many ways that entrepreneurs can raise money to start a business … the good, the bad and the ugly,” according to a news release. “From conventional loans and lenders to new web-based crowd funding platforms, the workshop will explore successful examples from a variety of businesses and some horror stories to keep it real.”

Sierra Small Business Development Center expert Kristin York will lead the discussion.
