Truckee business workshop to focus on QuickBooks

TRUCKEE, Calif. — This month’s “Knowledge Bites” workshop in Truckee will focus on QuickBooks, one of the most important tools a small business owner can use.

According to the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce, topics will include the basic understanding of financials and why it is critical to effectively run a business; how to set up and manage different accounts (including payables and receivables); how and why to reconcile your books with your statements; and how to run financial reports.

“The workshop will also include efficiency tactics such as short cuts and using memorized transactions to maximize time saved,” according to the chamber. “The workshop is geared for beginning and low intermediate users and will help participants quickly get a handle on all their financial data for the benefit of their business, including tips on the most efficient way to use Quickbooks software.”

The speaker will be Tanya Barron, who has more than 20 years of combined experience in Bookkeeping, Payroll, QuickBooks Training, Customer Service, Professional Organizing and Marketing and Sales.

The Knowledge Bites series is presented by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Sierra Business Council’s Small Business Development Center, sponsored by Plumas Bank. The venue sponsor is the Truckee Tahoe Airport District.

This session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on March 16 at the Truckee Airport, 10356 Truckee Airport Road. Reserve your spot by March 11, and the cost to attend is $20 for chamber members and $30 for non-members and includes light snack.
