Truckee Chamber looking to fund $105,200 in special events

The Truckee Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of the Truckee Tourism Business Improvement District, recently announced the 2017 Special Events Funding Program.

According to the chamber, total funding available for 2017 is $105,200 for both existing (recurring) and new events.

“The Truckee Special Events Funding Program is intended for events that attract out of town visitors, drive overnight stays of all types (nightly rentals in private homes, hotels, inns, lodges etc.), generate a positive economic impact (shopping, dining, etc.) for Truckee business owners during the shoulder season or soft dates/midweek, in addition to enhancing local’s experiences of participating in Truckee events,” according to a news release.

Funding will reportedly support “specific marketing and operational costs” to promote and produce an event “in order to target audiences who reside outside of the Truckee area who will spend the night, as well as locals who seek to enjoy a community experience.”

The deadline to submit an application is March 6. Visit to learn more about the program and how to apply.
