What your boss wants to know: The social media data cheatsheet
July 29, 2015
This social media data cheatsheet is designed to help you explain to your boss the value of social media and justify that what you do each and every day is an important activity. If you are like me, then you are probably spending a fair amount of time online. You follow your competitors, analyze their activities, come up with new content opportunities to showcase your company, promote that content on different channels, respond to people's questions, watch videos, read blog posts, watch more videos, scroll through Instagram and Twitter feeds and the list goes on and on. Admit it, some days you feel like you spend the entire day in front of a computer screen or three, but you don't really know if it was worth it. It's a fair question then that at the end of the day, your boss and maybe yourself too, wonder if what you are doing has an effect on the bottom line.
Below is a table that will direct you and help you identify the success of your efforts. Try to use it for a month or two and let me know if it assisted you in identifying the success of your efforts. Without knowing what you actually accomplish, it's hard to feel good about what you do, and it's also hard to justify your efforts to anyone else in the company. Thankfully, there are plenty of tools on the market to help you assess where you stand, analyze your competitors, monitor leads and sales and show results from your actions.
Let's dive in.
