Wine walk set for Saturday at Village at Northstar properties
June 2, 2015
TRUCKEE, Calif. — Truckee-based Carr Long Real Estate recently staged and upgraded the design of four of its Village at Northstar properties, giving them a more modern mood and tone.
These residences, along with several other Village properties, will be featured at Carr Long Real Estate's Wine Walk event on Saturday, June 6, according to a news release from the real estate company.
"What people are looking for in a vacation home has changed," broker Don Carr said in a statement. "They used to be warm, cozy, and elegantly rustic — to an extreme. Today people are looking for more modern, airy places to spend their down time. They want to escape, but still retain a sense of urban sophistication."
Carr and business partner Tori Long worked with San Francisco's Jeffers Design Group in redesigning the Ritz-Carlton Residences in 2013, according to the release.
Long's work entailed creating a whole new color palette, incorporating cooler, greyer hues. She also updated all the artwork, accessories, bedding and linens.
"The impact that the wall color has is amazing," Carr, co-founder of Carr Long Real Estate, said in a statement. "We created an entirely new atmosphere just with that, but by further updating all the little details and décor with stylish, yet subtle pieces, and we were really able to transform the space."
