Candidates night Oct. 4

The North Tahoe Business Association and the North Tahoe Branch of the American Association of University Women are sponsoring a community meeting to meet and hear from candidates who are running for election in November.

The candidates’ night will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. at the North Tahoe Community Conference Center in Kings Beach.

The meeting includes candidates for the North Tahoe Fire Protection District, Tahoe Forest Hospital District, Tahoe City Public Utility District, Placer County Water Agency, Truckee Tahoe Airport District, U.S. Congress 4th District, State Senate 1st District and State Assembly 4th District.

Each candidate will give a brief statement followed by a question and answer period from the audience. Propositions will also be discussed.

Placer County Elections Department will also be present to demonstrate the new electronic ballot system. For the first time, North Tahoe will be able to have election results almost immediately instead of having to wait until the morning after an election.
