Canyon Springs subdivision meeting set

The developer of Canyon Springs, previously known as Tahoe Boca, is holding a community meeting next week about the 213-lot subdivision near Glenshire.

The meeting is scheduled for Dec. 4, so project owner Mark Gergen and his staff can give an update on the project and allow community members to provide input.

Development plans were re-submitted to the Town of Truckee in October 2005 after the number of lots were reduced from 250 to 213. The subdivision application, which proposes donating 32 parcels to the town or an affordable housing organization for workforce housing, is still in the process of developing a draft environmental impact report.

Traffic from the proposed subdivision has raised the most concerns from people living in the Glenshire area. Two roads are planned to access the subdivision.
