Careflight responds to injury accident

TRUCKEE ” Careflight responded Monday afternoon to Highway 89 after a car whose driver was trying to pass a bike collided head-on with a delivery truck, according to Truckee police.

The accident occurred after the Subaru crossed over the double yellow lines to pass a cyclist, Truckee Police Sgt. Dan Johnson said.

The driver of the Subaru was taken by CareFlight to Renown while his granddaughter, also in the vehicle was taken to Tahoe Forest Hospital. The driver of the delivery truck and the cyclist did not report any injures.



Traffic was blocked for more than three hours Monday afternoon near Truckee on Highway 89, south from Interstate 80 to the intersection of Highway 89 and West River Street.
