Carolyn Wallace Dee voted in as new mayor of Truckee

Greyson Howard/Sierra SunNewly appointed Mayor Carolyn Wallace Dee presents outgoing Mayor Mark Brown with a plaque Thursday night. Dee will serve as mayor for the next year, and Richard Anderson will serve as vice mayor.

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; With an audience full of family members watching, Carolyn Wallace Dee was unanimously voted in Thursday as Truckeeand#8217;s new mayor.

Truckee Town Council also unanimously elected Richard Anderson into the vice-mayor position after council member Joan Jones declined the nomination. Outgoing Mayor Mark Brown was presented with a plaque and thanked for his time service.

and#8220;Thank you for your leadership and#8212; it will be hard to follow,and#8221; Dee said.

and#8220;Youand#8217;ve had a wonderful demeanor on the dais and have been a wonderful listener,and#8221; Anderson said.

Former mayor Maia Schneider commented on Truckeeand#8217;s method of rotating through mayors on the council.

and#8220;This is as close as we come to an inauguration,and#8221; Schneider said. and#8220;Thanks to all five of you for your commitment to the town and the quality of work that you do.and#8221;
